There was a strong turnout to the Deniliquin & District Transport Wall of Fame inductees’ dinner on Saturday night, with members of the industry, their families and supporters filling the Deniliquin RSL to honour this year’s trucking legends.

Guests enjoyed a relaxed two‑course meal, plenty of conversation, and a busy RSL bar throughout the night.
Guest speaker Steven ‘Tex’ Bloomfield proved a crowd favourite, sharing his stories from the highway patrol days, mixed with a few trademark tall tales.
He kept the room laughing and rounded out a memorable evening celebrating the region’s transport heritage.
The auction was a bidding frenzy, although some suspect bidding from auctioneer John Creenaune may have driven up prices.
The weekend concluded with a memorial service at the Legend’s Rest parking bay in north Deniliquin on Sunday.
