Walker is now on the hunt for a new home for 2028 after contract negotiations with the club, where he won a premiership just a month ago, came to a crashing halt.
The aftermath of Walker's Australian Test debut in the Kangaroos' World Cup win over Fiji was overshadowed by Roosters chairman Nick Politis pulling out of talks with the 24-year-old No.7 days later.
Politis' position has been endorsed by coach Trent Robinson and while Tedesco understands the club's need to get their salary cap in good shape, he sympathised with the scrutiny that has engulfed Walker's World Cup campaign.
Such is Tedesco's care for Walker, he even offered to help salvage relations between the club and halfback.
"I don't think I can (play peacekeeper) now, but I did offer that, I said if we need to make some calls, I can help out however you want," Tedesco said.
"That was our conversation, which I think is your responsibility as a captain and a teammate, not just to leave him out to dry.
"But obviously with Nick and Robbo (coach Robinson), that decision was made, so there's not really much I can do about it."
Walker didn't play in the Kangaroos' final group game win over the Cook Islands and sat down with the Roosters fullback last week.
"I think last week was very tough for him and it all came out pretty quickly, then he's in camp with everyone talking about it and externally on Instagram and everywhere else people are talking," Tedesco said.
"We had a good chat, just us two, about how he's going, and it's tough for him - he's only young as well so it was a bit of a whirlwind week.
"He was holding up OK. I think he just wanted to have some time to himself and get away from it for a bit, but I offered that if he needed any help or to have any conversations with anyone, I'd be there for him."
Tedesco, like Walker, has also entered the final 12 months of his Roosters contract and has eyes on pulling up stumps on a decorated career at the end of the 2028 campaign.
"Another year would be what I want to get to in 2028, and then that would probably be me," said the 33-year-old, who will learn on Tuesday if he has beaten Reece Walsh to the Kangaroos' No.1 jersey for Sunday's World Cup semi-final with Samoa.
"There's still some pretty good footy left in me. I still feel like I'm playing well, so I don't really want to give it up just yet.
"I've got my 300 games next year, which is the next milestone I want to tick off."
