Commencing in Ballarat and Bendigo on September 18 and 19, councils and greenhouse alliance groups will be presenting at public forums to look at strategies which can be adopted communally to combat climate change.
The Legislative Assembly’s Environment and Planning Committee is examining what urban, rural and regional communities in Victoria are doing to tackle climate change and how the Victorian Government could support these communities.
Public hearings have been scheduled for other regional Victorian areas across October and November, and for Melbourne in December, while public hearings will be held in Shepparton, Wangaratta and Mildura early next year.
The committee’s report will be presented to parliament by June 30, 2020.
