When driver Kris Pogorelec crossed the line on Saturday morning, he felt like he was set for an exciting weekend.
After a fourth-place finish in the veterans over 40 class the team came crashing back to earth yesterday at Torrumbarry Weir in the super social class.
“We didn’t have the best weekend which is quite frustrating after all our preparation,” he said.
“Our performance on Saturday wasn’t too bad with a good clean run.
“But on Sunday, we missed three starts in the morning session, which was a frustrating start to the day.
“We tried to redeem ourselves in the afternoon session but about three-quarters of the way (in the sportsman expert) down I went into a tight corner a bit hot and one of the skiers got a bit of slack and couldn’t recover.
“But thankfully we were able to finish the race.”
While it might have been a disappointing weekend in terms of results, Pogorelec was just happy to see teams reach the finish line.
“The main thing is that we all got to the finish line,” he said.
“We all had a bit of fun out on the water and now we can get to enjoy each other’s company after a great weekend.
“It’s always a win when you can finish the race safely.”
Brute Force finished the super social run in 47:59 and the sportsman expert run in 41:30.
