Friday night brings the clubs first criterium race of the year at the Moama velodrome's criterium track.
Club president Ray Hamilton said members were excited to get the year running.
“We are really looking forward to what this year is going to bring,” he said.
“The track is in excellent condition, its smooth as silk and fast, and its going to make for some fantastic racing.”
Four categories will race on Friday night, with Hamilton saying the club has been able to draw a number of outside riders as the reputation of the track grows.
“What has impressed us the most of late is how many people have been coming across from Shepparton and Bendigo in order to race on our track,” he said.
“We've put in a lot of hard work in the past years to get this up to the standard it is now, and we think we have as good facilities as you are going to find in the state.
“But on top of that, our club is a great atmosphere for people who enjoy their racing. We get some excellent quality riding early on in the night, people get to have their competition, then we put on a barbecue in the club house and we all sit around and have a couple of drinks and enjoy each others company.”
The club's move of their criterium racing from Monday to Friday has made the event more of a family event, with the club hoping to see more people come and be a part.
“You see the kids playing on the velodrome during the racing,” Hamilton said.
“We love that people want their whole family to be involved in the event, and moving it to a Friday has allowed that. We get to see a lot more faces and help to grow the sport of cycling.”
Racing begins just after 6pm, and is typically finished around 8pm.
