LOCKINGTON Bamawm United’s under-17 footballers will have familiar faces in charge next season after the club unveiled Joe Wolfe and Jo Holloway as co-coaches.
The pair are familiar to members of the Cats, having both spent extended periods of time within the four walls of the club in recent years.
“Joe has played all his football at Lockington coming up through the juniors,” a post on the club’s Facebook page said.
“He has been a consistent senior player for the last five seasons with this year being his first taking on a coaching role.
“Jo aka “Spadge” came to LBU in 2012 where he was previously at Rivcoll Bushpigs (Riverina College of Advanced Education, now known as Charles Sturt University Football Netball Club) and captained and represented the club at inter-league level.
“Prior to that he played all his junior footy at Allansford. “Spadge” was a reserves premiership player and best and fairest winner in 2013.
“He is a fantastic club man and already (has) worn so many hats in his time at LBU including past president, under-17 coach and football operations manager.”
The club said returning and new players were welcome to training sessions which start on Monday at 5.30pm at Lockington Recreation Reserve.
Holloway and Wolfe will hope to lead a turn-around in fortunes this season after 2019 ended with a last place finish.
