The Bombers entered their round two fixture off the back of a heavy loss to Mount Pleasant, while Heathcote’s trip to Gunbower Recreation Reserve was its first game of the new season.
The hosts were able to put a difficult first week behind them in nail-biting fashion, prevailing 46-40.
Katie Pollock’s side also continued its good recent record against the Saints, having won the last six regular season meetings between the two teams.
The Bombers moved up to fifth on the ladder with the win, them and North Bendigo being the only two sides that have split their opening two games.
Leitchville-Gunbower has the bye this weekend, returning to the court in round four when it hosts Huntly.
