Vic Country has been smashed by its metro rivals in the final round of the National Championships, while the Murray Bushrangers girls are brushing off a loss ahead of their Seymour date next weekend.

Shepparton United’s Tanner Armstrong and Echuca’s Cody Walker were not to their usual accumulative best that’s been seen over the course of their draft campaigns, however it was not a day to behold for any Vic Country prospect as Vic Metro romped to a 92-point win, 5.9 (39) to 20.11 (131).
Armstrong collected 19 disposals, five marks and two score involvements, while Walker had 19 disposals, six inside 50s and four score involvements in the match at Ballarat.
Playing at Craigieburn’s Highgate Recreation Reserve, the Murray Bushrangers girls suffered a low-scoring 19-point loss to Calder, 5.13 (43) to 3.6 (24).
Regular features of Shepparton United’s Leila Creevey, Lana Carroll, and Ashanti Walker were solid, while Shepparton Swans’ Eve Cook kitted up in black, purple and gold again also.
The Bushrangers face the Northern Knights at Seymour’s Kings Park on Saturday, while the boys are still another week away from action.
