Top sides battled in grand final qualifiers on Saturday, while others attempted to keep their season’s alive and advance to the preliminary final.
Reserves
Lockington-Bamawm was unable to take down minor premier North Bendigo, falling 9.11 (65) to 6.7 (43) in the qualifying semi.
The Bulldogs had seven behinds at the half, but found their shooting form after the break.
The Cats matched them in the third, trailing by two at the last change, but North took over in the final term to record the big win.
In the elimination semi, Huntly rebounded from its loss to the Cats to oust Mount Pleasant 15.6 (96) to 9.10 (64).
Huntly and LBU will face off in the preliminary final.
Under-18
Mount Pleasant continued its strong run from third, taking down White Hills despite a dire scoring performance 5.13 (43) ton 5.4 (34).
White Hills will face Lockington-Bamawm, which easily handled Huntly 12.10 (82) to 2.10 (22) in the elimination semi.
Under-15
Leitchville-Gunbower will compete for the first ever under-15 flag, winning over Lockington-Bamawm 6.7 (43) to 4.9 (33) in the qualifying semi.
The Cats led at three-quarter time, but the Bombers found their way home with three goals in the last term.
LBU has one more shot at reaching the decider, set to face off with Heathcote which narrowly won the elimination semi over Runnymede 5.7 (37) to 5.3 (33).
Netball
B-grade
Minor premier White Hills just survived Mount Pleasant to punch a grand final ticket 51-50.
The Mounts will need to regroup and defeat Huntly, which eliminated Leitchville-Gunbower 51-41, to get another shot at the Demons on grand final day.
B-reserve
LBU remained the dominant force in B-reserve, moving into the decider in style with a comfortable win over Huntly, 56-39.
The Cats await the winner of the Hawks and White Hills, the Demons knocking out Heathcote 59-31.
17-and-under
After a perfect 16-0 regular season, Mount Pleasant was upset in the qualifying semi by White Hills, 58-55 and will now have to take the long road to the final.
The Mounts will need to get through LBU, the Cats easily dispatching Elmore 42-24.
15-and-under
Lockington advanced straight to the final, defeating White Hills 47-42.
In the elimination semi, Colbinabbin ended Mount Pleasant’s campaign 33-26 and will now take on the Demons in the prelim.
13-and-under
Leitchville-Gunbower narrowly upset league-leader LBU 28-26 to skip straight into the final.
The Cats now need to negotiate a preliminary final with Mount Pleasant, which got past Elmore 25-11.
