Moama competed in the weekend competition, coming close to reaching the final after finishing second in section one behind Ocean Grove.
The Steamers won four of their five matches in pool play, only narrowly losing to Murray Downs in their fifth game.
The team’s skips were Cameron Keenan, Kevin Anderson, and Matt Robertson, with the Robertson rink performing particularly well over the two days, winning four of its five match-ups.
The Steamers registered some impressive wins on the way, which included beating Corowa RSL 46-32, Chalambar Golf 62-24, and Victoria Bowling Club from Ballarat 53-24.
Despite finishing just below it in the section, Moama did beat Ocean Grove in its third match, and the two sides ended up having the same win-loss record, but the latter’s superior score percentage qualified it for the final.
Ocean Grove went on to lose to Moonee Valley in the decider, 50-33.
After just missing out on the weekend state pennant, Ocean Grove redeemed itself in the midweek pennant, the club defeating Bendigo in the grand final 54-41.
Former Moama player Olivia Cartwright was one of the skips for Bendigo, and won her rink 19-14 in the decider, despite the side missing out on gold.
Riverine Herald photographer Jordan Townrow was on hand to capture the action from the state pennant midweek championships held on Monday and Tuesday.
