This was a game that kept spectators on the edge of their seats from the opening centre pass right through to the final whistle.
Tongala jumped out to an early lead, but we had spoken before the game about the importance of staying in touch and not allowing the margin to grow, and the girls executed that perfectly.
The second quarter was played goal for goal before we managed to edge our way in front.
Every contest was fiercely fought, with both sides applying strong pressure all over the court.
It was a physical but fair game, and each matchup was evenly balanced. In the end, it became a game of the little one per cent efforts, and we were able to capitalise on a few crucial moments that kept our noses in front.
Some timely on-court rotations helped keep the team fresh heading into the final minutes.
Tongala fought hard and managed to create a couple of turnovers late, closing the gap and setting up a tense finish.
To our credit, the girls stayed composed under pressure, valued every possession and worked patiently to maintain a slight lead until the final whistle.

Tongala proved far too strong for us this week, outclassing us across every third of the court.
Their transitions were smooth and precise, they moved the ball with great speed, and their strength and body control around the contest were outstanding.
From defence through to attack, they capitalised on every opportunity and maintained pressure for four quarters.
Despite the challenge, our girls can be incredibly proud of the way they continued to fight right until the final whistle.
Their perseverance, resilience and determination never wavered, and they kept their heads high while continuing to compete hard in every contest.
There are plenty of lessons to take from the game, and the effort and attitude shown by the group was something to be commended.

The Rams came up against an invincible opponent on Saturday in ladder leaders Tongala.
To the Rams' credit, the girls never put their heads down and played out the four quarters to the final whistle.
Maggie McCalman, Addi Hussey and Kayla Hussey worked tirelessly for the entire game.

It was always going to be a tough challenge against top-of-the-ladder Tongala, with C-Reserve eventually going down 76 to 14.
Despite the scoreline, the girls made the most of the opportunity, enjoying the game and trialling some new combinations across the court without the pressure of the result.
Lucy was dominant through the mid-court and even tested out some impressive flying leaps in GD.
Grace played a stellar game on the wings, getting plenty of hands to the ball and working hard in transition.
Charlee impressed in her first game in GK, picking up some great touches, before moving into centre where her calm and accurate passing helped steady the play.

Tongala came out firing from the first whistle on Saturday.
The Rams girls took a little longer to settle into the contest, but when they did, there were lots of promising passages of play across the court.
Alice Circuitt worked tirelessly in defence and was rewarded with multiple turnovers.
Bella Hillier was also back to her best, displaying strength on the goal circle and feeding with precision to the goalers.
Phoebe Newman was accurate in goals.

Under-15s: Deni Rams 26 def by Tongala 34.
A slow start against Tongala saw the girls settle into a strong contest, going down 34 to 26.
Meg and Killarni combined well in defence for key turnovers, while Grace O’Connor applied relentless pressure through WD.
Arielle, Liv and Aleaha worked strongly in the ring, with Eva, Zara and Stella feeding beautifully and helping build attacking momentum throughout the game.

Under-13s: Rams 24 def Tongala 18.
Incredible all-round team performance this week from the girls, with a hard-fought 24 to 18 win over Tongala.
The girls battled strongly for all four quarters, showing determination and teamwork right to the final whistle.
Bailee Dunn and Chloe Marshall were relentless in defence, driving hard through the mid-court and getting plenty of hands to ball to create valuable turnovers for the team.
Stevie Williams once again showcased outstanding accuracy in goals, and when moved into the mid-court, controlled play beautifully with precise feeding into the ring.
A fantastic effort from every player, with everyone contributing throughout the game.

The under-11s continue to improve each week, with all the girls developing their skills, confidence, and teamwork on the court.
It’s been great to see their effort at training and during games, with everyone encouraging each other and giving their best.
