Stanhope reinsman Mark Pitt had added another ‘first’ to his already impressive Group 1 resumé when he partnered the Emma Stewart prepared Bettor Beach to victory in the $150,000 Victoria Oaks final at Melton on October 17.
It was his first win in this Group 1 feature.
Pitt also won on another of the Stewart team Cigano at that meeting.
Kyabram trainer Mick Blackmore enjoyed a win with promising pacer Crackin Phitra at last week’s Kilmore meeting.
The three-year-old son of Always Be Miki, who was bred and owned by Mt Scobie’s Phil and Tracey Wade, was having only his fourth race start and ran some impressive times in scoring the win.
Kyabram Trots Club president Ken Covington also celebrated a win over the weekend with a trotter he bred and still partly owns, Kamaram, saluting at last Sunday’s Maryborough meeting.
Byrneside trainer Laura Wilson also had a winner at the meeting with her trotter Franks Alot who was driven to victory by her hubby Damian.
