Echuca-Moama’s 1989, 1990 and 1996 Sportstar of the Year winner Brett Sands has been inducted into the newly-created Sportstar hall of fame.

Widely regarded as one of the most talented barefoot water-skiers to ever represent Australia, Sands has been there, done that, with nearly everything in the sport.
From donning the green and gold for the first time at age 14, to coming out of retirement and winning three gold medals at the world championships in Canada in 2018 – Sands is a worthy recipient of his status in the hall of fame.
He has represented his country at the world championships on 10 separate occasions, which is tied for the most ever.
