Don’t Fence Me In is the latest exhibition to open at the Foundry Arts Space in Echuca.

The grand opening on Friday, May 17, saw community members and artists gather to observe the works over some light bites and refreshments to celebrate the artists’ achievements.

The exhibition aims to highlight the craft of painting ‘plein air’ which is about leaving the confines of a studio and painting in the landscape.

The style is said to bring the artist and subject together in order to authentically portray a landscape as it appears rather than from memory.

There are many works featured by artists from the Australian Plein Air Artist Group including Cheryl Mahon, Graeme Martin, Cheryl Wallace, Richard Speedy, Raymond Hill and John Lewis.

The exhibition runs until Sunday, June 2, at The Foundry Arts Space, 13-17 Murray Esplanade, Echuca.
