Following a recommendation from the newly formed Roads Focus Group, the council’s website now features maps of roads and bridges it manages, along with those handled by the government.
Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said the focus group heard many residents were unable to identify who was responsible for roads in their area.
The move follows a recent survey which found 76 per cent of roads in the council area that were managed by the government were described as poor or very poor quality.
“This highlights that the state government’s management of roads within Gannawarra significantly influences the community’s perception,” Mr Rollinson said.
“It is important for our residents and motorists travelling through the Gannawarra that... requests for repairs go to the right people.”
