The roadshow promises to deliver “hot and tasty comic treats” to audiences, covering all comedy bases in one side-splitting show.
Musical comedian Sez will be part of the Victorian leg of the tour.
Sez describes herself as “a musical comedian and writer” who does “a bunch of random stuff, like producing”.
She started performing at open mics from 2016, then got serious about comedy towards the end of 2018.
The comedian grew up in the Blue Mountains in NSW, where live comedy wasn't readily accessible.
“Then, when I was younger, I worked in a comedy club for a bit as a bartender, and then that's when I was like, oh, people can do that,” she said.
“I saw a musical comedian, and I used to want to sing and write songs, seriously like Missy Higgins vibes.
“And then working at that comedy club, I was like, ‘whoa, musical comedy’.
“I kind of thought I’d give it a go, and then I got addicted and now I can’t stop.”
For her Echuca performance, Sez promises an energetic 15- to 20-minute set.
“I just try and run on stage and just get everyone amped up, I do a lot of audience interaction, call and respond to get the audience to sing a tiny bit,” she said.
“I get the audience to scream as well.”
Her Melbourne International Comedy Festival show was called ‘Sorry, what?’
“But now people are like, what’s your show called? And I go ‘Sorry, what?’ And they are like, ‘No, what's your show called?’” she said.
“In Echuca, there will definitely be some songs from that show, because that show is good.
“That is the third hour I’ve written and three is the magic number.
“I do have a song called Dyslexic Bisexual, and it's just, it's funny because you think it wouldn't be relatable to everyone.
“But in that song, I feel like everyone has tendencies of dyslexia, or I think that dyslexia and bisexuality is, like, attached to each other.
“The joke is more like, when I was diagnosed with dyslexia in high school, and I was also realising I was bisexual, and the doctor told me, ‘You know, you're dyslexic’.
“And the first thing I said was, that's why I'm bisexual.”
