Do you or anyone you know have any unwanted, unregistered, damaged or end-of-life vehicles?
Shepparton Search and Rescue is calling out for locals to donate vehicles they no longer use for their road crash training scenarios.
Accredited road crash rescue member Brendan Mahlstedt said these donations were important because they allowed for real-life scenario training and the upkeep of volunteers’ skills.
“We use damaged vehicles because we cut them up and dismantle them as we would in real life,” he said.
“It’s to enhance the skills of people who are already qualified and also the up-and-coming members who are moving into the role of a road crash rescuer.”
The volunteer-based organisation goes through about three cars a month, and after that the vehicles are unusable and recycled.
For further information or if you have a car that can be donated, email admin@sheppartonrescue.com.au or go to training at 15 Dudley St, Shepparton on Mondays at 7.30pm to sort out a pickup date.
