Acting Sergeant Rod Brewis of Echuca police said the offenders damaged the windows at Rockmans, Nextra newsagency and Jekyll and Hyde in Hare St.
‘‘We are reviewing CCTV from the area and it appears the windows were kicked,’’ he said.
However, no entry was gained to the shops.
Jekyll and Hyde owner Nat Carpenzano said it was especially disappointing for her considering she had only recently opened the smoothie and juice bar.
‘‘It’s a brand new business so it’s going to be hard,’’ she said.
‘‘The window alone will cost us about $500 or more to replace.’’
In another act of vandalism, the heritage-listed water tower south of Echuca’s Loco Shed was recently damaged.
Vandals pulled the fence down and kicked in the door.
The water tower is owned by VicTrack and has been under a lease with V/Line, both of whom have been made aware.
Police are appealing to the public for any information into all acts of vandalism.
‘‘We would be seeking any person with any knowledge of the damages to contact police or Crime Stoppers,’’ Sgt Brewis said.
People can contact police on 54831500 or provide anonymous information to Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
