The two undefeated sides sit in first and second on the ladder, with the winner on Saturday set to solidify their position in top spot.
Cats coach Brodie Collins said he was expecting a tough challenge from a strong Hoopers outfit.
“They are a very well drilled, competitive team that are quite fast at foot, they are completely different to what we faced last week against North Bendigo,” Collins said.
“We’ll go out there and give it a crack. The boys are looking forward to another challenge.
“Hopefully they’re up and about and come Saturday they’ll be firing on all cylinders.”
The game is the last of a tough three-game stretch for LBU that has seen them come up against the three other top-four sides.
“We’ve played the three top sides in a row so the boys are definitely feeling it, they are definitely a little bit ginger,” Collins said.
“It’s a good challenge for us. It puts us in good stead and lets us know where we are at.
“If we can somehow get through all three games and be 3-0 that would be great. If we miss out on that and end up 2-1, so be it. We’ll learn from that and move on.”
LBU will head into the clash off the back of a come-from-behind win against North Bendigo last week, whille Colbinabbin defeated Huntly by 26 points.
The Cats trailed at three-quarter time but kicked five goals to the Bulldogs’ one in the final term to snatch victory.
Collins said there were some pros and cons from his side’s comeback win.
“It gives me good confidence that we are showing a lot of fight in the last quarter which is good,” he said.
“When we’ve been challenged we’ve bounced back and stuck to our guns and played some good footy.
“In saying that, we probably shouldn’t have allowed ourselves to be in that position against North Bendigo, we should have been up by five goals at quarter-time.
“North Bendigo is a very good outfit and they played very good footy and stuck to their brand. It nearly got them over the line, but we were lucky enough to get the four points at the end of the day.”
The Cats face some uncertainty around their squad ahead of the blockbuster clash against the Hoppers, with a number of players in their senior squad in doubt due to illness.
“We’ve got a few guys a bit crook at the moment, we’ll see how we go, it’s a bit of an unknown at the moment,” Collins said.
“That puts a fair dint in your side, there is no doubt about that. We’ll see how we bounce back.”
In some good news for the Cats, Jarod Bacon and Stanley Brentnall will return to the side to face Colbo.
