With $10,000 on the line in the Eureka Series Final over 2160m at Frank Ryan Raceway on Sunday night as part of the Caledonian Hotel Easter Cup, Pangrazio is planning on the pay up when his five-year-old gelding hits the track after posting two seconds in its past five starts.
But Payup Orleave will face extremely stiff competition in the form of Dreamers Delight (NZ), which after a five-month spell has chased down a first and second-place finish in his last two runs.
Pangrazio's pursuit of the purse won't be the only story of the day - there is also the cup itself; a $7000 race over 1755m.
And in the mix to hoist the trophy will be a Tongala trifecta.
But if form is anything to go by, there may only one to keep an eye on, with Roslyn Gaye in top form for Tongala’s Gary Merkel recently with a win and two thirds.
The six-year-old mare continues to trot at the front of the pack and just missed out on a placing in two recent meets.
Tongala’s Michael Watt also has two trots in the mix, but there hasn't been much to celebrate lately.
Loyola Trios has failed to strike for more than nine months, with the six-year-old gelding's last win coming on June 19, 2020.
But a recent third could signal good things are coming for Watt's gelding.
Watt’s long shot though is Lets Save the Day.
With its last win coming in 2018, the seven-year-old has been finishing next-to-last in all its recent races.
Another race to keep your eye on is the $7000 Noel Evans Memorial Trot over 2130m with a standing start, which continues with a strong local favour.
Nannella’s Greg Albert returns with Bella Lucy after getting a win at the Echuca Pacing Cup last month, while Torrumbarry’s Faye McEwan finished second at the same meet with Wanda.
But the five-year-old mare will be hoping to put a tough race at Cobram on Monday behind her after she was severely interfered with.
The Elmore-trained Regal Assassin NZ is looking to gun down all its rival and looks a good chance, while the Rochester-trained Willdomxav is in fine form coming into the meet with two wins in Shepparton in February and March.
Gates open at 5 pm, with the first race will kick-off at 5.49 pm. The final race of the night starts at 9.37 pm.
Bookings are essential and can be made at www.stickytickets.com.au/MJ1EL. Admission is $10 for adults and kids are free.
Among the attractions off-track will be a raffle to win a hamper on the night as well as an Easter egg giveaway.
With live music to get the earbuds prickling, there will be a full bar and bistro-style dining to get the tastebuds tingling.
Takeaway food will also be available along with an ice-cream van and coffee van.
An on-course bookie is also available.
