The grant will support Kyabram District Health Service’s ‘Christmas Brunch & Tunes’ celebration in Stanhope on Friday, December 17.
The funding was made possible through the Campaspe Rural Support Community Event Grant project.
The project supports the delivery of free social and recreational events that bring rural people together and improve community health and wellbeing.
The festive get-together will feature healthy food and live music, and reconnect Stanhope district residents in a relaxing and informal way.
It will be a much-needed and long-awaited opportunity for locals to reflect upon and move forward from the challenges that have come as a result of COVID-19 during 2021.
Everyone who attends the alcohol-free event will also take home a Christmas gift.
Campaspe Primary Care Partnership executive officer Emma Brentnall said as Victoria started to emerge from pandemic restrictions, it was more important than ever for rural people to engage in community events.
“We all need to share our experiences and start looking positively to the future,” she said.
“COVID-19 has impacted so many people in different ways and the effect on those living in the country should not be underestimated.
“We are proud to assist Kyabram District Health Service in planning this important event and congratulate all involved for their ongoing work to support the Campaspe community.”
KDHS Stanhope Community Voices Committee member Annette Armstrong said the Stanhope community was looking forward to uniting after the past difficult year, in the beautiful surrounds of the new Stanhope Health site.
Christmas Brunch & Tunes will be held at the Stanhope Health garden area at the back of the facility at 35 Birdwood Ave from 10am to 1pm.
Everyone is invited to attend, although COVID-19 restrictions may limit numbers.
