TWO men have been arrested over a spate of burglaries across the Echuca region.

Detective Sergeant Brendon Murphy of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said police arrested Anthony Firebrace, 33, on Tuesday at a Leichardt St home.

‘‘A stolen Toyota Hilux was found in the back yard which had been stolen from a Kerang car dealership,’’ he said.

Firebrace was charged with theft of a motor car and burglary offences.

He appeared in Bendigo Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was remanded in custody to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Detectives also arrested an Echuca man at a Boothman St home yesterday morning.

The 26-year-old has been charged with about 14 offences relating to car thefts and burglaries across Tongala, Echuca, Heathcote, Kyneton and Traralgon.

Detectives were yesterday attempting to remand the man in custody.
