On the opening day of the three-day agricultural event, boats from all three V8 Superboats classes will hit the water at the Elmore Events Centre.
It’s a first look at the sport ahead of Round 1 of the Penrite Australian V8 Superboats Championship, set down for the same venue on October 31.
While the field days appearance won’t be a competition round, organisers promise it’ll be no less spectacular.
Punters will get the chance to check out a static display up close, before watching boats tear across the water to show off exactly what these powerful machines can do.
V8 Superboats race in around a metre of water, with a driver and navigator working in tandem to negotiate up to 40 intersections on a course in around 40 seconds ... an intense, split-second sport where every call from the navigator counts.
For the teams, the Elmore date doubles as a valuable test session.
Crews will use the day to trial track directions and fine-tune timing systems on the new course, ensuring everything runs smoothly when the championship rolls into town for real later in the month.
Elmore is the newest addition to the V8 Superboats calendar, and its arrival brings the sport back to Victorian waters after more than a decade away.
