Locals enjoy free cruise for World Mental Health Day

MORE than 100 locals flocked to the MV Mary Ann recently for a free cruise and morning tea as part of World Mental Health Day.

Organised by the Campaspe Murray Mental Health Network (CMMHN), the event aimed to raise awareness of mental health and reduce stigma around mental illness.

This is the third consecutive year CMMHN has organised the cruise on the MV Mary Ann, with each event fully booked out in advance.

Bendigo Health, Njernda Aboriginal Corporation, Community Living and Respite Services, Murray River Council, Campaspe Shire and Campaspe PCP were major sponsors of the event, with Moama RSL providing the MV Mary Ann free of charge.

CMMHN is a network of local mental health service providers who meet regularly throughout the year to discuss, provide training opportunities and bring guest speakers to the area.
