High St Barber will be holding a ‘Cuts for Nuts’ event tomorrow to raise money for Movember.
The charity aims to stop men from dying too young, raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention.
And tomorrow, High St Barber owner Rick Wilcock will back the cause by donating $5 from each cut and all proceeds from a sausage sizzle.
“As a barber, I see a lot of blokes - some of them are up, some are down. I get to hear a lot about health problems, work problems, struggles at home,” he said.
“I want to create a safe spot for blokes to come and share how they're doing, that's why I'm so passionate about Movember.
“We still need to raise awareness and stop the stigma men are facing around mental health.
“Too many men feel they need to tough it out, keep their struggles to themselves and suffer in silence.
“Through this Movember event, I want to do my part to raise awareness and money for an important cause.
“I encourage all guys to come down and hang out. Even if you don't want a cut you can come in for a snag or a beer.”
Rick would like to thank sponsors Echuca Apex Club, The Good Meat Co Leitchville, Redgum Bakery Leitchville, Beechworth Bakery Echuca and Echuca Printers.
Cuts for Nuts will be held tomorrow from 9am to 2pm at High St Barber.
