And with that comes shade, texture, dimension and colour.
Art lifts the spirit and calms the mind.
Echuca-Moama's Foundry Art Space is looking forward to getting the show back on the road, providing a creative and imaginative space for time out in these extraordinary times.
The Foundry in the Port of Echuca is drawing back the dust covers and getting ready to welcome you when the doors reopen on June 26.
And the group has an exciting calendar of events ahead for 2020.
Its first exhibition, titled Two Birds, celebrates a special connection between a mother and daughter.
Jan Bird and daughter Tarli Bird have combined their artistic talents and produced creative works which are a blend of paint, cotton thread, intuition and communication.
Individual pieces were created over several months with the paintings moving backwards and forwards across the countryside between studios.
The subject was painted by Jan, who then passed it over to Tarli to weave her magic with cotton thread amongst the light and shade, shadows and highlights of the piece, creating another textural and dimensional layer to the canvas.
“The key is knowing when to stop,” Tarli said.
Both artists have composed singular and collaborative works in various interesting mediums, including ‘eco dyeing'.
The exhibition will not have an opening due to COVID-19 restrictions but will be on show from June 27.
The exhibition can be viewed at The Foundry from 10am to 4pm six days a week, closed on Tuesdays open on Friday, until July 26.
Social distancing rules apply and The Foundry will operate under the COVID-19 guidelines with a maximum of 20 people inside at one time.
