TWO Echuca men due to face court over the theft of more than $700,000 worth of wake boats, cars and caravans have had their matters postponed.
Brett Spits, 37, and Lincoln Mifsud, 44, were scheduled to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 28, for a committal mention.
However, both matters were adjourned to August 25 in the same court.
Spits, one of the region’s leading figures in waterski racing, was charged with two counts of theft of boat, two counts of theft of boat trailer, two counts of bringing stolen goods into Victoria, two counts of dealing with proceeds of crime and handling stolen goods.
Mifsud, who works in the automotive repair/spray painting industry, was charged with four counts of handling stolen goods and dealing with proceeds of crime.
The men, who are both on bail, were arrested on February 28 following an investigation into a $700,000 heist of boats and vehicles.
