EMFM is a volunteer-run radio station affiliated with Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and the Southern Cross Community Media Association.
EMFM treasurer John Vincent has welcomed the nomination for the station.
“The nomination means recognition for the hard work of all the volunteers,” Mr Vincent said.
“I think we were nominated for our effort in informing the locals about COVID, and what they needed to do under the continually changing restrictions.”
The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“This little radio station is Echuca's best kept secret,” Mr Vincent said.
“It's a great platform for kids who want to get into media, it's a great place to start and they can go anywhere.”
EMFM has 12 presenters who volunteer their time, including Roger Peake who presents the shows Just Sixties on Wednesday mornings, and Pot Pourri on Thursdays.
“Community radio is made by locals for locals of the Echuca-Moama community,” Mr Peake said.
“It's great for our station to be recognised in this way.”
EMFM broadcasts on the 104.7 frequency around the greater Echuca-Moama area.
