“I worked as a water engineer for Coliban Water on lots of infrastructure projects throughout the electorate,” Ms Grundy said.
“It was a great opportunity to spend time to see the towns and meet so many amazing people.”
Ms Grundy said she had decided to run to fight for the regional communities she loved and to give voters in the safe Nationals seat another option.
“I think about one in four people in Murray Plains votes for Labor,” she said.
“I want to make sure those people have a voice, and ensure there’s a contest of ideas.”
Ms Grundy labelled roads, river health and regional health infrastructure among her key concerns, promising to advocate for the seat getting its fair share.
“The people of Murray Plains deserve better infrastructure,” she said.
“I’m very glad the Carroll government is committing increased spending for roads and health projects in the area, and I’ll continue fighting for more.
“I want to ensure we look after the health of the Murray — it’s the lifeblood of so many of these communities — the increasing impacts of climate change, like flooding and algal blooms, are felt here hard.”
Ms Grundy is the fourth candidate announced for the district of Murray Plains.
The Victorian election will take place on November 28.
