The Leitchville defender has undergone surgery on his quad, which will likely see him miss some football.
Hore is yet to appear for the Demons this year, and was already recovering from a broken toe when he tore is quad tendon while in the gym.
Melbourne high performance manager Darren Burgess told the club's website the injury would sideline Hore indefinitely.
“Marty was in the gym and hurt his quad pretty badly,” he said.
“He tore his quad tendon, a pretty nasty sort of injury. He will be out for a while with that.”
