Lights on the Goulburn, a free, Mitchell Shire Council-run event, invites the community to the Seymour park on Saturday, June 20.
Running from 5pm to 9pm, the alcohol-free event will feature light projections, illuminated spaces and family-friendly activities.
As dusk settles, the park will glow with colour and movement, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
Mitchell Shire Mayor John Dougall said the event offered a meaningful opportunity for the community to gather after a challenging period.
“Lights on the Goulburn is designed to bring people together in a warm, welcoming and creative way,” Cr Dougall said.
“After the impacts of recent flood and bushfire events, this event gives our community a chance to reconnect, reflect and enjoy a shared moment of light and celebration.”
Aside from the food trucks, light projections and fun activities, the event will also feature a lantern parade.
Community members are encouraged to bring their own handmade lantern, free of glass, to take part in it, with registrations for this to soon open.
A free LED tea light will be dealt out to participants on the night.
Council encourages attendees to dress warmly and bring a blanket or chair to get cosy at the event.
Lights on the Goulburn has been developed by council as a one-off, free event to support community connection, recovery and shared experience following recent natural disasters.
