Founded by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health in 2012, the annual campaign was created to raise awareness of health issues affecting women across all stages of life and to help address gaps in information, research and care.
It also provides an opportunity to start important conversations, reduce stigma and empower women to take action for their wellbeing.
The theme for Women’s Health Week 2026 - running from September 7-11, is ‘Do it anyway’.
It recognises that many women face barriers to prioritising their health.
Throughout the week, Jean Hailes for Women’s Health will share practical information, expert advice and real stories aimed at helping women make realistic changes that fit into everyday life.
Each day will focus on a different aspect of health.
• Day one, ‘To fuel’, will explore nutrition and healthy eating habits.
• Day two, ‘To move’. will encourage women to rethink physical activity and embrace movement in ways that suit their lives.
• Day three, ‘To rest’, highlights the importance of sleep.
• Day four,, ‘To breathe’, focuses on mental wellbeing.
• Day five, ‘To connect’, encouraged meaningful social connections and community engagement.
