Between 9am and 2pm on November 7, members will show off all that the shed has to offer.
Seymour Men’s Shed president Terry Payne said the event would not only promote what it meant to be a member but would also see the sale of a large variety of items.
“It looks like we’ll have a fair range of stuff,” he said.
Items for sale will range from small knick-knacks created by members and larger sculptures and furniture, to electric and garden tools.
Mr Payne said all proceeds would support the local shed.
“There’ll be something for lots of people,” he said.
“We’re not looking for a lot of money, we just want to get rid of some things, and this way it’s easier for us and better for the community.
“All of the tools will be available for a reasonable price. A lot of it will just be a gold coin donation.”
The shed had about 30 members and Mr Payne said it would be nice to show it off to new people.
“It would be lovely to see some new faces,” he said.
“We don’t want 200, but it would be nice if we had 40 or 50.
“Unfortunately, because of the times we’re open, we’re seen as an old man’s thing ... If there was enough interest, we could look at opening for a few hours on a Saturday.”
In addition to the items for sale and the peek into the shed’s operations, the open day and garage sale will also have a coffee van on site and kids’ giveaways.
Mr Payne welcomed all to the event, and said he hoped it would continue well into the future.
“We’d like to make it an annual event,” he said.
The shed is located at 7 Worrough Rd, Seymour.
