MOAMA'S Todd Murphy has officially been named in Cricket Victoria's men squad for the 2020-21 season.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday morning, after News Corp last week reported Murphy was set to earn a rookie contract for the upcoming season.

Murphy is one of 28 players included in the squad which also features three Cricket Australia contracted players - Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell and James Pattinson.

"It's obviously nice to get to where I've been aiming to for the past four years," Murphy said.

"But it's only the beginning of my journey and I know that I still have a lot of hard work ahead of me."

The spin bowler who plays Victorian Premier Cricket for St Kilda is joined by Brody Couch (Geelong), Tom Jackson (Geelong) and Cameron McClure (Essendon) as first-time rookies in the squad.
