Picola United earned a second straight Picola District Netball League victory to start the season, taking down Rennie in round three.
Although the first half was a tightly-fought affair, the Blues were eventually able to overwhelm the Grasshoppers and break away for a 38-28 victory.
Both sides’ attacks failed to fire over the first 15 minutes and Rennie led by six goals to five at the first break.
The flow returned in the second, but things remained neck-and-neck, Picola sneaking ahead 18-17 at the major interval.
The third period proved defining, as Rennie was kept to three scores, while the Blues added 11 to lead by nine, before closing out the game with a 9-8 final term to win by 10.
The Blues currently reside at the heady heights of third place and will be hoping to continue the run this week as they battle a winless Mathoura at Mathoura.
