After a weekend off for Anzac Day, the Rams hit the netball courts and football field following some good results against Rumbalara two weeks ago.
In the senior football, the Rams have three wins and one loss this season and are coming off an 83 point win against Rumba.
Numurkah have the same win loss record, after a win against Nathalia last Sunday - the team that handed the Rams their first loss of the season.
Rams coach John Fitzpatrick said the bye came at a good time for his charges.
“It has given the boys a good week off and an extra week for some of our guys with some injuries and a few sore bodies, so it has worked out really well.”
Fitzpatrick said they are aware of the challenge Numurkah presents.
“They’ve started the season strongly, and they’ve got a pretty good forward.
“We’ll have to make sure we contain him.
“It is a bit hard to measure how good they are yet, but their results so far speak for themselves.
“We were a bit ordinary to start with (against Rumbalara) but it was a good win.
“Rumba are lacking a bit of depth, but in the end it was good to get the result.”
While up against a run of strong sides in May, Fitzpatrick is optimistic and looking forward to welcoming some key players back into the side.
“We’ll lose three who’ve gone back to school - Charlie Bull, Oscar Wren and Sam Crossley.
“But coming back from injury we have Cable Fitzpatrick, Liam Pitts and Riley Hamilton, as well as Andrew Smith who had the deb last time we played.
“Logan Leiper is another one who is looking at returning.
“We’ve got a few guys in contention to be picked, which is really good.
“In just the next four weeks we’ve got Numurkah, Tongala, Moama and Mulwala before the bye again, so those are some pretty tough games.
“But I think we can be competitive in those and hopefully sneak a couple of wins and play a good brand of football.”
