However, it is clear that the youngster is in no mood to rest on his laurels any time soon as he put in an eye-catching showing at Shepparton Golf Club during the semi-finals of the establishment’s club championship.
The boy from the Goulburn Valley delivered a memorable ace on the fifth hole during his match against Daniel Adem who came into the contest as reigning 2025 Open Club Champion.
The all-conquering Goodall eventually saw off the eight-time tournament winner on the final 18th hole to set up a showpiece grand final meeting with the formidable Luke Dixon this weekend.
This hole-in-one was the third of the prospect’s career, with this latest achievement coming after the Shepparton talent claimed the Dixon Family Perpetual Shield during the qualifiers at the event.
Describing his heroics as his career highlight reel continues to grow, Goodall’s pride was palpable as he reflected on his 154m ace – which was the first on the Shepparton fairway.
“It was pretty much the perfect eight-iron for me, a little bit down-wind,” he said.
“Three holes prior on the second hole, I had the exact same distance and it just came up a little bit short.
“So, I hit a good shot there and just thought about that – and thought ‘just do the exact same thing’.
“As soon as I hit it, I knew it was going to be close and it was a bit hard to see because it was cloudy, so I didn’t actually see if it had gone in and didn’t want to celebrate too early.
“This was my first ace at Shepp, after all my years playing there I’ve never got that close,” he said after a proud family affair on the banks of the Goulburn River.
“It was significant to get it there, with all of my family there watching as it was the first time everyone – apart from my dad – had saw me get a hole-in-one.”
Looking ahead to the all-important grand final, Goodall is hopeful that he can clinch glory in his home town on May 31.
“I played Luke (Dixon) a few years ago in the final, so it’ll be a familiar match-up,” he said.
“It’ll be good, I hope I can get the win, but we’ll see on Sunday.”
