Invitation to apply for NDIS readiness grants

By Seymour Telegraph

Organisations across regional Victoria are invited to apply for one-off grants to build the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) workforce so it can best meet the needs of Victorians with a disability.

The Victorian Government is providing $1.3million to the Victorian Regional Readiness Fund for grants of up to $130000 each.

These grants will help deliver services to regional and rural communities, generate local solutions to workforce issues and better support the choices of people with a disability on the NDIS.

The funding will help address the challenges faced by rural and regional Victoria in transitioning to the NDIS, including recruiting qualified staff such as therapists and other specialists, and managing services across large areas with small populations.

Applications for grants are welcome from not-for-profit services, community groups, businesses, higher education and training institutions, local government and other organisations.

Applications close 5pm June 12.
