GOTAFE Seymour’s new health and training centre will receive $2.5million from the Victorian Government.
Training and Skills Minister Gayle Tierney visited the Seymour campus recently to announce the funding.
The centre will assist GOTAFE to deliver skilled workers in health and community services within the region and forms the basis of the Seymour campus masterplan.
Ms Tierney also met with GOTAFE students who have completed qualifications through the Victorian Government’s free TAFE initiative.
GOTAFE chief executive Travis Heeney said the funding would allow GOTAFE to strengthen its commitment and presence to the Seymour and district community.
‘‘To meet the growth within the Hume corridor, it is imperative GOTAFE’s Seymour campus reflects the requirements of industry and the community,’’ he said.
‘‘This funding will allow GOTAFE to work with industry to provide new learning and teaching opportunities to the workforce of tomorrow.’’
