Echuca man accused of armed robbery faces court

A MAN charged over an armed robbery in Echuca in March has faced court.

Kade Mongta appeared in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 5, charged with armed robbery, several driving offences and resisting arrest.

The 22-year-old was further remanded in custody to appear at the same court on September 9 for a committal.

Detectives arrested Mongta on May 16 following a raid at an Echuca property on the corner of Sturt and Service streets in late April.

Mongta is accused of using a small baseball bat to threaten a man in his 30s as he sought to make him sign over his car on March 18.

The man suffered minor injuries, while the vehicle, found in Service St in April, was impounded.
