Lifeblood spokesperson Aania Tandon thanked locals for their donations and said the generosity could lead to up to 1155 saved lives across the country.
“With one in three people needing blood in their lifetime, you never know when it might be a family member, a neighbour or someone from your community who needs it,” she said.
“Your donation could make a life-changing difference.”
Cancer patients are the most frequent recipients, but donations also support women during childbirth, people living with blood disorders or autoimmune conditions, accident and trauma victims, and many others in need.
Ms Tandon is also calling on locals to make the most of the donor mobile's return to town, which will be visiting from September 29 to October 16.
The whole appointment takes around an hour, yet the donation itself is over in as little as ten minutes — a small amount of time that can make an enormous difference.
