For close to 70 years, the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society, Seymour’s oldest community organisation, has been bringing the show to life at Kings Park Reserve.
Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society secretary Pam Beerens said bringing the community a spectacular, budget-friendly event every year was important to the society.
“As the only agricultural show in Mitchell Shire, our volunteers have been working long hours to bring the community event that only comes once a year,” Ms Beerens said.
Each year, the society is focused on ensuring the event is easily accessible, with a number of activities for children and families being free to participate in.

The much-loved fireworks display promises to light up the Friday night sky in spectacular fashion, running from 8.15pm to 8.30pm.
On Saturday, it will be animals galore at Kings Park, with the animal grand parade, which hasn’t been seen at the Seymour Show for many years, to kick off at 2pm.
Ms Beerens said competition pavilions would also be bustling.
“The competition pavilions will again be full of items to admire and enjoy, from baking, plants and flowers, needlework and craft, art, photography, alpacas, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, sheep shearing, wool, dog high jump and the family fun dog ring,” she said.

Hands-on activities will give children and families the opportunity to experience a variety of industries and organisations.
“Have a go at the Royal Flying Doctor Service simulator, fly the plane and learn more about the organisation,” Ms Beerens said.
“Drive the harvester simulator, see the army display and chat to the personnel, or watch the woodchips fly at the wood chop.”
Raffle tickets will be available over the weekend and attendees can also choose to sponsor a ferret to win $500 or $1000 in cash, or a $500 donation to a charity of their choice.
Ms Beerens said volunteers were still welcome to help bring the show life.
“There’s so much to do and see and be part of,” she said.
“There is still time to volunteer to be part of this community event.”
