Powercor crews will carry out maintenance at the Cohuna zone substation, which supplies Cohuna, Pyramid Hill, Leitchville, Gunbower and surrounding areas, on Thursday, May 7.
Crews will also upgrade the main supply line from Kerang, along with other network assets including poles, transformers, insulators and switches.
To allow crews to complete the work safely, some planned power outages are required.
Powercor has organised generators to keep large sections of the Cohuna, Leitchville, Gunbower and Pyramid Hill townships on supply for most of the day, ensuring shops, schools, service stations and medical facilities are available for local communities.
A short outage will occur between 4.30pm and 6pm as crews safely switch supply back to the network.
Powercor will also switch more than 530 customers to other parts of the network to keep them on power during the work.
Customers outside township areas will experience a planned outage at 8am to between 4.30pm and 6pm, depending on progress of the works.
