Mr O’Keeffe comes to Notre Dame College from John Paul College, Frankston, where he held the role of deputy principal of learning and innovation.
He brings decades of leadership experience in Catholic secondary education, with a record of building high-performing school cultures and improving student outcomes.
His leadership at John Paul College was recognised by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, which named the school a spotlight school for its evidence-informed approach to instructional practice.
The acknowledgement reflected his work developing a whole-school vision for instruction that strengthened teaching consistency and students achievement — experience that aligns directly with the Magnify Sandhurst instructional program already embedded at Notre Dame College.
Before joining John Paul College, Mr O’Keeffe served as director of college and community engagement at Loyola College, Watsonia, where he led significant enrolment growth and guided the college through substantial organisational change.
Earlier roles at Loyola included head of learning and director of co-curriculum.
Beyond his school leadership, Mr O’Keeffe has served as a relationship facilitator with CatholicCare Victoria for more than 15 years, is a member of his Parish Pastoral Council and volunteers with a companion van supporting vulnerable people in Frankston.
“Catholic education is a vocation for me,” Mr O’Keeffe said.
“Faith lived through actions is something I feel really strongly about, and it shapes the kind of leader and the kind of community member I strive to be.
“I am looking forward to bringing that same spirit to Notre Dame.”
