The club has confirmed it will field a side in a newly added Bendigo Junior Football League competition which will feature teams from the Heathcote District and Loddon Valley competitions.
HDFNL rivals Elmore, Mount Pleasant, North Bendigo, Huntly and White Hills will join the Bombers in the competition.
Meanwhile, Marong, Maiden Gully YCW, Newbridge and Calivil United will be involved from the neighbouring Loddon Valley League.
The competition will start on July 18 and run for 10 weeks.
All teams will play in a “finals series” on September 19, which will see games scheduled according to ladder position – for example, first v second.
“Ten teams is a really good number to be able to run this type of a season over 10 weeks, so we're looking forward to putting it on,” AFL Central Victoria junior operations manager Nathan Williams told the Bendigo Advertiser.
“The season will be run in line with the AFL Victoria Protocols which are essentially designed around players turning up ready to play, playing, and then leaving and government restrictions that have been set out.”
In terms of crowds, the current AFL Victoria protocols state, "only spectators necessary to support participation, such as coach, medical staff, parent of a junior participant should attend training and competitions.”
Those in attendance will be unable to access the ground during breaks or after the match.
A fixture is yet to be released.
