In the girls' competition, the Albury visitors were too good on the day.

For Deni South, Harper Bulmer and Stevie Williams shared the scoring and the entire team fought well for the remainder of the game, but Albury were just too strong on the day to keep adding to their lead in each of the remaining quarters.
At the end of the game, Albury won 49-7 and progress to the next round.
The boys fixture was another good contest, delivering a closer margin on the scoreboard.
Overall, it was a particularly high-paced, high-quality game and a fantastic display of basketball for a group of 11 and 12-year-old boys.

Callan Leiper found his range early, hitting some deep jump shots, while Nate Fitzpatrick and Jed Fitzmaurice got on the drive to force some fouls and free throws to go in at the first break 17-13.

South struggled to stop their opponents as Albury slipped out to an eight point lead just before half-time.
After a quick time-out to regather their thoughts, South came back out more composed, defensively set and went on a 7-0 run in the final two minutes of the half, with scores at 28-29.
The third quarter almost mirrored the first.
Both teams found some momentum at certain stages of the quarter, with neither team asserting a large lead.
Jetta McDonald stepped up late in the quarter, finding his way to the free throw line and also knocking down two shots.
Albury pulled away late to take a five-point lead into the final break with the score at 45-40.
In the early part of the last quarter, Albury looked to be holding South at arms length to maintain their five-point buffer.
Neither team could get their offence flowing as defence became the objective.
With four minutes to go, South called for a time-out.
After a quick chat, they regrouped to come out and score three quick baskets to take the lead by one point.
South then went on to seal the game by dropping two more shots and coming up winners 53-49.
Jed Fitzmaurice and Jetta McDonald came up big in the final quarter and dropped two shots each, plus making some great defensive plays to help their side hold Albury to only four points in the fourth quarter.
It was a great team effort by the South team, which earned them a spot in the next round.
